how aesthetics can truly color your attitude? here i am...immensely unhappy with the current state of things in my district and BOOM KAPOW the media specialist drops 35 CUTE CUTE CUTE chairs and 5 tables on me...out with about 18 old crappy desks and chairs from the 70's (not kidding) and in with the slightly worn and NEW TO ME tables and chairs. my room went from shabby and tired to cozy and inviting in the blink of an eye (ok, maybe that blink of an eye took about 2 hours of muscle-bending work) but oh my gosh...i'm just in awe.
i can't WAIT to see my kids' reactions to it. i wanna do a cartwheel or something but i'm afraid i'll hurt me (hehe). i'm curious about how this will affect their attitudes- will it make them take more pride in the room? in themselves? in their work? sigh, one can only dream. so of course, other changes will have to be made since i have such cute furniture. since we're no longer allowed in the building without permission- and that takes a freakin act of congress, i'm super glad i'm teaching summer school. i'd like to take a couple afternoons after the class is over to paint two of my walls in here- hmmmm. so many things ricocheting through me- conflicting emotions. what did that karma thingie say? dare to let contradictory ideas exist in your head-- well baby, trust me, they're there!
ach- it's already 4 on a friday afternoon, so i need to scoot. gotta get kid and dog situated so i can start my weekend :)
